On the Side of the Road
Last Friday night, I made the drive into town to go meet up with some friends to see the new Harry Potter movie. It was one of those rare and beautiful days in Kodiak. The thermostat on the car said 71 degrees, and the sun was shining gloriously (yes, it really is a glorious thing when the sun shines here on this island). I was running a few minutes early, and had my camera in the car beside me. So, after only a brief hesitation I pulled over on the side of the road to take a few shots of the gorgeous afternoon scenery.

Like I said, it was just one of those all around beautiful days. They are rare (the sunny, warm days, that is), so when they come around, we like to take full advantage. The only thing was, these were all taken around 6:45 as the day was coming to a close.
Oh well. I’m sure before the summer is over, we’ll get another. Hope you guys are having a great day so far!

wow, if my summer looked like that, I wouldn’t want it to end!
We don’t get very many days like that here. We’ve had more this summer than they’ve had in several years. So I had to make sure I got some shots off before winter rolls back around. Thanks girl!
I feel like that in the spring, I never want spring to end and summer to begin. 113 for 4-5 months is not my cup of tea. 🙂
