It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done Feature Friday. With the holidays, New Year, and all of the work I’ve been doing, it’s been hard to keep up with and find new bloggers to spotlight. But, I’ve rid myself of that problem and have several PHENOMENAL bloggers lined up for the next few weeks! I’m excited to share these wonderful writers with all of you and hope that you’ll enjoy their company as much as I do. If you’re not sure what Feature Friday is all about, make sure you check this out and get the scoop on one of my favorite weekly features! (I’m also looking for new bloggers for February, so if you’re interested submit your Guest Post or Contact Me for information!)
Today’s Feature Friday blogger is someone that I’m 100% positive I could be BFF’s with outside of the blogging world. Our little guy’s are about the same age and both scream heartbreaker when you take a look at them. (We’re going to be in so much trouble when the girls get big enough to come calling…). She’s a fantastic photographer, a heartfelt writer, and one of those genuinely wonderful people that I’m so excited for you to get to know!
Hi! I’m Meagan and I blog over at Meagan’s Musings about babies, photos and toddlers.
I’m a mama to Andrew (2.5) and Caroline (5 months). I love being their mama, but they keep me very, very busy. I spend my few minutes of free time taking pictures with my other baby, my Canon 7d, drinking iced lattes and eating peanut butter M&M’s. I also love to read historical fiction and never miss an episode of Top Chef.
Thanks Courtney for asking me to share my thoughts with all your great readers! I look forward to hearing about everyone’s favorite books!
My little guy Andrew will turn three in March.
He is as busy as can be, always on the run, jumping off the couch, “leaf blowing” in the backyard. But he also really, really loves to sit down and read a book with me.
This makes me so happy. We started reading board books to him when he was about four months old as part of his bedtime routine. I was always sticking soft, crinkly books under his nose when he was on the floor for tummy time as a baby. We even read books in the bathtub. I really wanted him to like books.
And it worked!
Through the months some of our favorites have been the Sandra Boynton board books. The Going to Bed Book, Blue Hat Green Hat and But Not the Hippopotamus are faves for sure. And don’t forget Snoozers.
But now he’s older and looking for something a little more challenging. He can sit still and stay attentive through some pretty long books these days.
One of our absolute favorites is the cutest book:
Goodnight Goodnight Construction Site. You read about every big, hard-working truck tucking himself in to bed. So cool.
We gave him a starter Dr. Seuss set for Christmas: The Cat In The Hat, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and Green Eggs and Ham. He loves them!
He’s also currently obsessed with Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks and Things That Go. This book is sooo long. But he loves it and wants to find Goldbug on every page. And the ‘dozers!
So those are our current most-loved books.
Don’t forget to come back and linkup to this weeks 52 Faces! Linky will stay up until next Wednesday at noon, ET! Looking forward to seeing those photos!
I always love reading about your bloggy buddies!
Oooh! So encouraging…! I just started buying a couple of books here and there for my littlest darling because I want her to love to read so I’m glad it worked with your son. Lol!
Thank you for sharing Meagan. My boys both love reading.
