Life Just Works
These last two weeks have been a bit of whirlwind around our house.
The husband made rank and found out he was advancing in May or June; which is such a blessing. He works so hard and loves what he does so much. It makes me happy to see him succeed doing something he loves. We are so, so proud of him. Then we got some news about our time in Kodiak that may or may not benefit us. So many things with that are up in the air, so I won’t even bother discussing them right now. But, knowing that changes are possible makes my head spin a bit.
We were at the park with Little Man the other day, enjoying the 42 degree temperatures (hey, that’s a heat wave here in Kodiak) and the sunshine. Noah was running around playing on the slides and the swings; laughing and having a good time. The husband and I were discussing life and the various changes that come our way time and time again.
We both started thinking about it and were amazed and humbled when we started to talk about all of the things that we never thought would go our way, that did.
All of those little things that we swore wouldn’t work out, that have.
Those tiny blessings and miracles that we didn’t expect to ever come to us, that did.
This sweet little boy is a constant reminder of all of the things in life that have gone right…that have worked out.
It’s easy to get down and out when things aren’t going smoothly or perfectly.
But I’m constantly reminded and humbled when God reminds me that he does hear me and that he is listening.
Even all of those things I swore I’d never overcome, I have.
Life…always works itself out for the best.

Praying for this outlook for you and myself everyday 🙂 The military provides some unique challenges but I always find that focusing on the Lord’s plan for me makes things better. AND I’m glad you’ve had some nice weather! It is amazing what I think ‘nice weather” is now after only 6 months in Washington versus South Carolina 🙂
I know what you mean. “nice” weather here in Kodiak is so different than “nice” weather back home in Alabama. 🙂 The military lifestyle does present an entirely different set of challenges (that go on top of the every day challenges that life itself brings) but it also has opportunities that we’d never otherwise have. I have to remind myself of this day in and day out.

Amen, Courtney! It’s amazing how unfailing God’s love for us is, isn’t it!? We have these conversations often, too. It helps us deal with the changes and surprises of military life 🙂
I agree sometimes life just works out in ways you least except. We often are too busy to see it but when we do it’s so refreshing.

God is SO faithful! 🙂 I love reading things like this – I love it when someone is just caught by all the blessings in their life. And capturing it in such a beautiful way is a great reminder when life feels like it is NOT going our way. God is always the same. He is always faithful, always trustworthy, will always turn things to good.
