That stuff you're afraid to talk about...the sin you think is too messy? We unpack that here...

Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.

There is purpose behind the

There is                  in the chaos,

Mess,

there is meaning in the

Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.

But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

God wants to use the ugly stuff, too...

I love being a business owner. I love that I have the flexibility to create my own hours, work around my husband’s schedule, spend time with my kids during the day, and take on the kind of work that makes me happy. I can photograph what I want. I can work with the brands that […]

Finding Validation

I swore when I was pregnant with Jonah that I wouldn’t become that blogger. You know. The one who has a baby (or has her second, third, fourth, etc. baby) and forgets that she ever once existed on the web. Forgets about her blog, her readers, social media presence, and all that goes along with […]

I Became “that” Blogger

2:00 am. Five minute feeding and then back to sleep. Fingers crossed that we get at least a three hour stretch this time. 4:30 am. Two and a half hours. It’s better than one hour or one and a half hours. Time for him to eat again. Seven minute feeding and he’s back asleep. Crawl […]

2:00 am to Midnight

I have so many things that I want to talk about…to blog about. I want to tell you all that Noah started Preschool on Monday. And I want to go into detail about how I’m feeling about having my biggest baby gone three days a week. How my heart is breaking the tiniest bit because […]

What I Want to Say…

The last few weeks, as I’ve mentioned, have been difficult. I’m tired. My body is worn out in preparing for this new baby boy to arrive in the next few weeks. Work is wrapping up and everything on that end is coming to a close. I’m scared and nervous and excited and anxious all at […]

With Every Can’t, There’s a Can

It’s another one of those mornings where I really didn’t have any intention of writing. In fact, I’m still shocked that I’m even able to hold my head up this morning. Yesterday’s early morning (6:00 am) and all day stent at the hospital left me exhausted. I came home last night and collapsed in the […]

Know a blogger that should have made one of those fancy “Top SomethingOrAnother” lists a long time ago? Check out The REAL 100 and submit your nominations! The last few days have been rough. Scratch that. Make that the last week. My work is winding down. I’m putting finishing touches on about five websites and […]

Which Plate Will Drop?

I think this might be the most highly anticipated part of this little series I’ve put together. Most of you were interested in the why I started a business post and several of you messaged me with thanks for posting more about the legal aspects of being a business owner. But for the most part, this […]

Starting a Business: How to Find Clients & Build Your Portfolio

I wake up every morning to the same thing… …a cool breeze blowing from the fan; regulating the temperature accordingly to keep my pregnancy induced hot flashes in check. …surrounded by the fluffiness of a dozen (yes, we really have that many pillow on our bed right now) pillows. …the sun peeking in through the […]

A Bit of Perspective

I was completely blown away by the response that I received after my post last week on starting your own design business. I knew that there were many of you who were interested in getting started, but I had no IDEA that I’d receive the feedback that I did. I had comments, Facebook messages and emails […]
