That stuff you're afraid to talk about...the sin you think is too messy? We unpack that here...

Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.

There is purpose behind the

There is                  in the chaos,

Mess,

there is meaning in the

Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.

But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

God wants to use the ugly stuff, too...

I’m tired of having to defend my decisions. Or my beliefs. Or my choices. I brought two little boys into the world and my sole purpose in this life is to raise them to be strong men. Good men who love Jesus and love people. Men who make mistakes, but who own those mistakes and do what it takes […]

The Best I Can

I’ve debated for a while now on whether to talk about this on my blog just yet. I reached out to a few friends and opened up about it, told family, entrusted those who I thought would be supportive of us no matter what. And, since my Instagram and Facebook posts have kind of come […]

It’s Time to Talk About It

I’m going to get on my soapbox and stir the pot a little bit today. I’m pretty good at that and I really try hard to be as unbiased and non-judgmental as possible. But, hot topics and debates leave me thinking…and pondering…and itching to share my opinion. Because we are all entitled to one of […]

I Was Pregnant Before I got Married

I used to write. In fact, I used to do a lot of things. I used to take pictures of my boys with my “big” camera instead of just with my iPhone. I used to read books that weren’t text books…for fun. I used to drink a cup of coffee in one sitting without having to reheat […]

Once upon a time…

First, I want to say thanks for all of the AMAZING feedback I received on my post this week about creating habits of materialism in our children. Ironically, the post received zero comments but the feedback I go through Facebook, email, and from in person comments by my readers was so encouraging. If I’m being […]

Getting Rid of the Clutter: From Materialism to Simplicity

Admitting that somewhere along the line you have messed up is hard. Admitting that we’ve said something hurtful, done something hurtful, or just intentionally done something to someone for reasons unknown…is hard. Accepting the mistakes. Admitting your flaws. Asking forgiveness….is hard. But, I don’t know that there is anything quite as eye opening and as […]

Where We Messed Up: Battling Materialism in your Children

Yesterday was one of “those” days. You know which ones I’m talking about. I don’t know if it’s something with the moon (ever notice how the moon gets the blame when our kids are driving us nuts?) or what. But it wasn’t a good day. There were spankings. Time outs. Whining. Fussing. Crying. Clingy-ness. Spilled […]

Even in Chaos, I am Blessed.

I’ve started to notice that my biggest baby, really isn’t a baby anymore. He doesn’t look like a baby. He doesn’t talk like a baby. He doesn’t play like a baby. We’ve bypassed and moved beyond the terms of “toddler” and “preschooler.” Noah’s just a kid. A full-fledged little boy with barrels of energy and […]

Big Kid Problems

I love being a business owner. I love that I have the flexibility to create my own hours, work around my husband’s schedule, spend time with my kids during the day, and take on the kind of work that makes me happy. I can photograph what I want. I can work with the brands that […]

Finding Validation

Jonah is going on five months and we are finally starting to hit a stride around here. While there are still several days where I end up collapsing in bed when the day is over, I feel like there are more days now where I sit back and can say, “This isn’t so bad. Maybe […]
