That stuff you're afraid to talk about...the sin you think is too messy? We unpack that here...

Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.

I’ve been in a bit of a creative rut lately. I blame part of it on pregnancy and the fact that I spend about 80% of my day wishing I was sleeping. I missed the memo that, even though I was utterly and completely exhausted my first pregnancy, the second time around was 100 times […]

How far along: 30 weeks. Holy smokes, Batman. Can you believe we are only SIX WEEKS from this baby being full term?! How big is the baby: Your baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, […]

30 Week Bumpdate

Another week down. Does anyone else feel like 2012 is absolutely flying by? I worried that this pregnancy would drag on and on and on, but truthfully? I feel like I’m blinking and it’s nearly over. Work and life in general have kept me so busy that I barely have time to register what week […]

We all know that disappointment is part of life. But explaining disappointment to a four year old is a bit different than understanding it as an adult. I’m not sure if it’s experiencing years worth of broken promises and empty words from people who weren’t supposed to let me down. Or if it’s from a […]

How far along: 29 weeks How big is the baby: Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. […]

29 Week Bumpdate

As you can see by the sheer lack of photos throughout most of the week this week, it’s been another busy one around here. Saturday was the first Alabama football game of the season. We had a few friends over, enjoyed college football all day, and the little man and I made a cake. For […]

How far along:   28 weeks 2 days How big is the baby:   By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, […]

Are you on InstaGram? Find me! @CourtneyKirklnd We have had a busy, busy week around here. It’s been a long and productive one, but busy nonetheless. I think this might be the most highly anticipated part of this little series I’ve put together. Most of you were interested in the why I started a business post and several of you messaged me with thanks for posting more about the legal aspects of being a business owner. But for the most part, this […]

I wake up every morning to the same thing… …a cool breeze blowing from the fan; regulating the temperature accordingly to keep my pregnancy induced hot flashes in check. …surrounded by the fluffiness of a dozen (yes, we really have that many pillow on our bed right now) pillows. …the sun peeking in through the […]
