We have had a busy, busy week around here. It’s been a long and productive one, but busy nonetheless.
Monday I had my Glucose test (after rescheduling it last week…oops). Noah enjoyed some playtime in the waiting room (they got new toys so he was stoked) while I sat around waiting. They offered me the option of Lemon Lime flavored nastiness and Orange. Since the orange made me sick with Noah, I opted for the Lemon Lime. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t good either. Mine wasn’t all that cold so it tasted like room temperature, flat Sprite. I finished it. But, it wasn’t good.
The sun has been shining most of the week this week, so I was able to snap some photos of this beautiful island we live on while we were on the way home. I have to admit, despite all of the things about Kodiak and life on an island that I don’t like, the days where it’s sunny and warm outside make it worth it. Monday it was 70. A nice, warm, breezy 70 degrees. We went to two different parks and took a nice long walk, then grilled some burgers. It was…perfect.
Tuesday Noah woke up and plopped down on the floor with the iPad to watch Doc McStuffins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It was a little dreary when he got up and I may or may not have been hogging the TV watching “Love it or List it” on HGTV. He, surprisingly didn’t veg out for long and enjoyed some playtime indoors and out. I love living on a base where I know he’s safe if he decides to go out and play. He ran in and out of the house in his pajama shirt and jeans and got lots of sunshine. Then he got in trouble (see photo four on the second row) and pouted until Daddy came home and played Batman with him.
Wednesday morning, my newspaper writeup came out. Since we don’t actually get the paper here, I got up bright and early to go snag a copy of the paper. Only, they don’t deliver newspapers to the Exchange here on base until after lunch. So, aside from getting to see the sunrise, I got up for nothing. The night before, Josh woke up and found Noah plopped in the middle of his bedroom floor playing toys at 3:00 am. So, when we got back home from dropping Josh off at work Wednesday morning, the kiddo didn’t last five minutes before he was zonked out on the couch.
When he got up, we made a Walmart run where I snagged not only a paper with my photo on the front page (totally weird, by the way), but some new fall makeup essentials. Grey Nail polish for my ever inflating feet and toes and a mauve/burgundy lipstick. I was completely and totally out of my favorite shade of Covergirl (which they don’t even make anymore), so we’ll see how this new shade of Revlon goes. Wednesday afternoon, the boys played football in the backyard while the baby and I relaxed on the patio and soaked up some sun.
Thursday we had to take Daddy to the doctor. Josh has been having trouble with his shoulder off and on for years. Turns out he has a spur that’s messing up his rotator cuff. Noah and Josh spent some time playing with one of those magnetic sand tables while we waited on the doc. Then, Noah made a new friend in Mr. Skeleton. He was pretty fascinated by the different bones and even learned a few of their official names thanks to Doctor Daddy. The third photo was actually from Wednesday…but he’s pretty prone to pass out in the car whenever we go somewhere. And we’ve surpassed the Spiderman phase and moved on to Batman. For now, at least.
So that’s what we’ve been doing this week. I could always bore you with shots of me working or something, but these of the little guy are much cuter. Y’all had a fun week last week! I know you’ll be sad to see summer and the warm temperatures go, but there will be a baby to make it a little easier on you! 🙂 And I LOVE that Andrew’s happy and safe to play outside here too. He loves it, and someday it’ll be cool enough for him to do it again – ha!
It is a little sad to see the sunshine disappear, but I love Fall so much and I’m looking forward to the leaves changing, the pumpkins and our sweet baby boy making his arrival! And the snow. I really do love the snow.
oh my gosh my favorite is noah passed out in the car – i LOVE it!!!
ugh glucose tests are awful but they aren’t too shabby her in the UK i must say.
anyway – looks like a nice week!

Isn’t he a character? He sleeps in the strangest of positions.
Looks like a good week to me.
I’m thinking I want to try gray nail polish. That is, if my kids will even let me use it before they steal it away from me.
I am still loving my grey nail polish. I’ve kept it on my toes since I bought it. I keep saying I’m going to do my nails in grey, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I love these! The collages, by day, are awesome What a great way to capture what’s going on!
Thank you, Natalie! These posts aren’t hugely popular with readers, but it’s fun to have a bit of a photo journal of what we’re up to during the week.
Love all of these shots!
Thank you!
He is adorable. Even when pouting 🙂
And yay for getting on the front cover!
That’s why I have a hard time disciplining him. He’s just too cute for his own good.
