I love your honesty. In a day and age of social media bombards us with all the happy and perfect lives of those around us, your blunt truth is refreshing. I think so many of us can relate to feeling weak and unworthy. I actually relate quite a bit- after my daughter was born life just seemed hard. I would get through day to day and I loved my husband, our dog, and of course my daughter but life just didn’t seem fun. I was just trying to keep up with the treadmill of tasks, drank lots of coffee, would retreat with my Bible or the TV (more often the TV) and tried to keep my unhappiness at bay. If that didn’t work I’d take it out on my husband.

Three miscarriages later I found out that my body produces low amounts of progesterone. With low-progesterone comes irritability, insomnia, fatigue, low sex drive to name a few symptoms….anyway I am now 5 weeks into a new pregnancy and have been put on progesterone and wow could I tell the difference. Heck, my husband could tell a difference. Ironically despite being pregnant and going through stress at home, I’ve been able to handle everything relatively well.

Anyway, I just want to send you a virtual hug. I wish I had known that it was my body that was making my life so miserable and not just my head. My one bit of unsolicited advice would be to check your health, any and all aspects, and make sure there isn’t something that isn’t making life any harder than it needs to be. And if it is hormone-related, find a doctor that is compassionate to the cause. The medical establishment has made the range for what is acceptable quite large so it is hard to be diagnosed as low in anything.
