Hey guys!! Sorry for my absence the past couple of days. We are in the “overseas screening” process of our move which mainly equals a lot of phone calls, a lot of paperwork and a lot of doctors appointments for myself and little man. I’m up to my ears in things to do. Add in the fact that Little Man’s birthday was last week, followed by Halloween and the local fair…and you’ve got an exhausted and in-over-her-head mom. I’m attempting to get Halloween/Birthday Photo’s edited, so watch for those sometime this century.
I managed to get my Primary Care doctor to fax me a nice little paper saying that I don’t have to drive all the way back to Florida next week for a doctors appointment. Which is a HUGE relief. As part of our overseas entry screening, we all have to have updated physicals and dental exams. Unfortunately…I hate the doctor. And the only exam I have “current” is my Ob/Gyn physical. And I’ll admit I haven’t been to the dentist in ___ years. [Ok. So I won’t admit how long it’s been. I abhor the dentist office.] So. That being said, I have a physical in the morning and a dentist appointment after lunch. Thankfully it’s after lunch, otherwise I wouldn’t have anything to eat all afternoon. My mouth hurts too bad. And I can kiss that caramel apple covered in Peanuts goodbye tomorrow night. Never gonna happen.
Little Man has his big TWO year checkup Thursday. New shots and all that jazz. And then hopefully the medical portion of our screening will be done.
I’ve been on the man hunt for a new vehicle. My little Cobalt isn’t going to do us much good in Alaska. So we’re looking into SUV’s and Trucks…not sure how I would look {or feel} driving a truck…but I guess I will learn. I’d probably have more road rage because I’d be in a bigger car. LOL
Little Man is busting the terrible two’s wide open these days. Well, at least that’s what I assume his problem is. He’s clingy and whiney and ill. I’m not sure if it’s related to his turning two, the fact that he’s sick of his daddy being gone, or the fact that he may actually be getting sick…a nasty cold seems to be making its round here. I dosed him up with some children’s cold medicine and I’m hoping he will sleep it off. We’re planning to take him back to the fair tomorrow night and it’s supposed to be cool. Thankfully I bought him this the other day:
Along with a few sets of hats and mittens to keep his little ears and fingers warm. I can’t wait to show off how CUTE he is in his little winter clothes. Now if only the weather around here would cooperate with that desire.
I also did something a little sneaky the other day. I bought a pair of really cute black heels about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I wore them out once, but haven’t been anywhere since to get any use out of them. Then, we found out we were moving to Alaska and I was bummed that these brand new shoes were either going to have to A) be sold at the yard sale we are planning to have in December or B) go to Goodwill. And I paid too much for them to do either of the sorts to a barely worn pair of shoes. So…I wiped them down, cleaned them up and put them back in the box and back to the shoe store they went. What did I swap them for? Something more appropriate:
This is the first pair of snow-boots I have ever even looked at in my life. It feels so weird to have them sitting in my closet right now, along with an ever growing stack of scarves, gloves, ear warmers and toboggans. But they are super comfy. I tried them on in the store…and my feet should definitely stay warm inside of these bad boys. Care to see what other items are on my Alaskan shopping list? Everything you see is coming from either LL Bean or The North Face:
I may not be able to sport cute new heels and strappy stilettos in five or six feet of snow…but I can still look good and own a few cute pair of boots, right?
Hope you guys have a great Tuesday! I’ve got posts coming the rest of the week, so you’ll have some new reading! LOL
Also…I’m going to California in December and I’m in need of a few Guest Bloggers for the week I’m gone and the week that Hubby is home. If you are interested, send me an email with Guest Blogger in the subject line at:
