Nothing makes this little boy happier than a day in the snow. You’d never know that he was born in Florida and spent a better part of his life enjoying warm temperatures, ridiculous humidity and the beach scene. While he adores the water and being near the ocean, this kid loves the snow. Sledding, snowball fights, snowmen…you name it and he’s game. He never hesitates to throw on his “big boy boots” and grab his sled for some playtime with daddy or the big kids next door.
And that big mountain of snow in the top right photo? That’s what our cul-de-sac looked like a little over a week ago. They pile the snow from the roads up in the middle of our street to get it out of the way. It was all of 15 feet high and 16 or so feet wide. Massive. Absolutely massive. I took that photo for perspective’s sake. Just so everyone could see how big it was. Our families in Alabama have never seen snow like this. It’s insane. But also one of the most beautiful and peaceful things I think I’ve ever experienced. There is just something about peaceful undisturbed snow covering the earth.
This life we live here in Alaska is growing on me…
This place is growing on me…

Love the snow pictures! I am so disappointed as we normally have snow by now. We don’t have any π My daughter and I have been anxious to go out and play in it. If it ever decides to snow. LOL
LOL – I bet if he was born and spent half of his live in Canada (ahem!) like us we would probably love Florida more instead. I guess I’ll go through your blog to see if I can retreat finding a nice pic of the paradise π
Haha! I bet! I understand completely. We grew up in South Alabama, so the break from the hot weather and humidity is a nice change. I’m sure you can find some beach pictures on here somewhere. π

Oh I love these pictures! What a fun, fun winter y’all will have! It’ll be a winter to remember for sure!
LOVE THIS! You did such a nice job on the layout (the pics are great on their own, of course, but so much better together)! π
Thank you!!
I used to live in a cul-de-sac and the did the same thing with the snow. It made for the best place to play!
Great photos of your son, stunning eyes.
Alaska does grow on you, doesn’t it? Glad you’re here.
It really does. Thanks Voni! π We’re happy to be here!
Jealous of all your snow!!
this is a very beautifully taken picture and as a photoshop addict did you happen to touch up the looks? brilliant anyway!
I adjusted little things like the curves, but other that I didn’t mess with anything.
Enjoy some for me little man…since I hardly ever see it!
I think he’s been enjoying enough for EVERYONE! :0 Hope you’re doing great!!
