Another week down. Does anyone else feel like 2012 is absolutely flying by? I worried that this pregnancy would drag on and on and on, but truthfully? I feel like I’m blinking and it’s nearly over. Work and life in general have kept me so busy that I barely have time to register what week it is and how much longer we have left until we meet this sweet baby boy.
Friday my boys took me out to eat (well, actually we all just went out to eat, but I like to pretend that they treated me…) and then we took Noah to see The Dark Knight Rises. I’m a total sucker for Batman movies. He’s always been my favorite super hero. Noah loved it and I was (as expected) totally smitten with Christian Bale as the masked hero again in this film. I also loved that the language wasn’t filthy and that it was only rated PG-13. After dinner, popcorn and candy…I came home and treated myself and baby to an Apple with Caramel and Peanuts (a run of the mill caramel apple…without a stick).
Saturday we took it easy and watched football. Noah played and bounced and jumped and then passed out in my lap. I got a little misty eyed while I was rocking him because 1) he rarely sits still long enough to be rocked anymore and 2) he looked like a tiny little baby again all curled up in my arms. I can’t believe he’s going to be FOUR in just a few weeks.
Sunday I sorted and reorganized baby clothes, hung a few final things in the boys’ room, had a friend over for lunch and we went toIce Age: Continental Drift (for those of you wondering…movies at a Military Base are dirt cheap. $20 gets us in the door with popcorn and candy. One of the perks to being out here, I guess). I have to say that Sid the Sloth is still one of my absolute favorite cartoon characters.
Monday was a big let down when we found out that my mom wasn’t going to be coming to visit this week as planned. Noah was pretty bummed out about it and my mama guilt (even though it was a situation I couldn’t control) had me in overdrive all day, working to make it up to him. So, I made him his favorite breakfast (Cinnamon Rolls) and we went to Walmart and snagged him a new Batman Cape and Mask to help ease the disappointment a bit. Granted, when he gets over he won’t get a new toy every time life throws him a curve ball and he’s let down, but for now…it works. And it makes us feel better to do something to cheer him up.
Tuesday was a long day. I didn’t sleep well the night before due to the drama of Monday so I spent the day in a bit of a zombie state. Coffee didn’t do the trick and neither did “Batman’s” silly antics to wake me up. So Noah and I took a nice, long nap and then I ate Fruit Loops while watching the second night of the Blind Auditions on The Voice(#teamblake #teamadam).
Wednesday I spent most of the day working while Batman saved Gotham City from boatloads of evil doers. Then…Wednesday night, we sat at the table and enjoyed some Oreo’s. I may or may not have eaten an entire sleeve. By myself. Ahem.
Thursday I had my 29/30 week checkup. We got up way earlier than normal and snuggled in the chair for a bit while we ate waffles and watched Jake & the Neverland Pirates. Noah was being so sweet that I really hated to get up to get dressed. I love those moments when he wants to snuggle and cuddle up. It was really too early for him to be awake, but he was surprisingly chipper. The sun was shining and it was the perfect touch to the cooler temperatures that we’re starting to get here. Fall is definitely already here for us and I’m eager to snatch up some Harvest decor to go on my front porch. Noah spent the afternoon being a ham and making me giggle with his silly faces and antic. Thursday night we had a little family game night. We’re attempting to cut out so much online time in the evenings and spend more one on one time with each other. We decided to play Uno. And Noah beat us both. Twice.
I had a few people ask me how I’m doing these collages. I actually didn’t create them myself. Instead I found these free InstaGram Collage Templates over at Live & Love Out Loud. So, be sure to go snag them if you want! Linking up this week with The Essence of Now, A Good Life & InstaFriday.
Those snacks you pictured are making me hungry!
I love catching up on your weeks. But I’m sorry your mom couldn’t come visit, for all of you. I know how disappointing that can be.
Enjoy the oreos! And hang in here!
Your collages look awesome! Such sweet captures from your life. Thanks so much for using them and sharing them with your readers. Have a great day, Courtney. 🙂
So fun seeing your week in pictures!
I do feel that 2012 is passing by quick. Well, once the baby was born, that is. 🙂
I always enjoy your Instagram photos. I will need to check out the collages. My user name on Instagram is barbieswihart. I’d be honored if you followed me. Although I can be pretty dull!
