Despite how much I love my son, he drives me insane. To say that my child never did anything wrong, would be insane…and an outright lie. To pretend that it doesn’t annoy the you-know-what out of me when my son throws a tantrum would also be a lie. So. Rather than pretending any of the before mentioned statements are true, I’m just going to grace the screen of this blog with the things that are. Mom-to-mom; Parent-to-Parent:
My child threw a tantrum in Outback last night. His daddy took him to the bathroom to spank him. I was not ashamed. In fact, I was to the point of begging my husband to go discipline him because I had reach the point of frustration that I wasn’t comfortable doing it myself.
My child got mad about not getting his way the other day and threw his drink across the table and hit me in the head with his sippy cup. And then laughed…
My son has started this whole, “Mine! Mine!” thing where he actually believes that everything is, well, his. And it’s not. And when we don’t let him have what he thinks is his…guess what he does?
Little Man freaked out on me in Walmart a few weeks ago because he wanted M&M’s while standing at the cash register waiting to pay. We were about to go eat. But I got sick of hearing him scream. What did I do? Bought him the blessed M&M’s. Guess mom ruined his supper, huh?
I’ve bought Noah McDonalds chicken nuggets more times that I care to mention since we left Alabama and started our journey across country. {Okay, so maybe it was only three times, but it’s more times than I care to mention.}
Let the little guy run around with no clothes on after he gets out of the shower for at least 45 minutes, just because I don’t feel like fighting with him to get him dressed? Yep. Done that.
Let Little Man watch Cars, Toy Story 3, and Nemo over and over and over again while we were traveling, just because it kept him quiet? Yep. Did that, too.
Make the mistake of letting him see me laugh when he was doing something he really wasn’t supposed to do, but it was too funny not to crack a grin? Yep. Been there.
What about you? What are you big fat parenting F.A.I.L.S. that you really don’t want to share? I promise, this mommy won’t judge. And if you are here to do so, I’d much rather you not comment. We are all human. We are all parents who make mistakes and we are all women who love our kids-even though they drive us crazy sometimes. And I’m not ashamed to admit when mine does. 🙂
On our way to our new home in Kodiak! Catch you guys next time in Alaska!!
