Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.
Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.
But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

When tragedy strikes on the news and on TV, we sigh, talk about how sad it is and we move on. When tragedy strikes at home, close to us, it’s an entirely different story. I write with a heavy, heavy heart this morning. Yesterday afternoon, a dear friend, former pageant competitor [We competed a few […]

Men have been talking about them for what seems like centuries; my husband swoons [okay, so men don’t really swoon, but you know what I mean] over the idea of a 55” plasma, a big comfy couch and every gaming system known to man right at his finger tips. Oh and did I mention that […]

Go! Now [well, after you read this post…or you can read them simultaneously. However you choose…ahem.] […]
{Welcome back to another edition of No Mom Talk Monday! If you aren’t sure of the rules, they are really simple: You can write about whatever you want…except your kids. The link up is at the bottom! Enjoy!} If you remember a few weeks ago, I wrote a post about how I was about to […]
Alright guys! Here you go. My very first Vlog. 🙂 Please pardon the “umms” and too many “ands.” It’s been way too long since my last public speech so I’m rusty and out of practice [and YES I used to be extremely good at interviews and public speaking.] My accent is thick, so I’m anticipating […]
The airport was a very dull, paling gray. There was way too much light streaming in through the wall-to-ceiling windows and too much chatter in the waiting area. “I need a gate pass, please. We just want to go to back to the terminal and watch him get off the plane.” “Ma’am, I’m going to […]
There are times that I step back from the mirror [or the computer] and wonder, what on EARTH am I thinking? It’s no lie. There are times when I honestly and truthfully just annoy myself. I sit back sometimes when I’m at my worst and wonder why my husband puts up with my unbelievably frustrating […]
Today has been chaotic from the get-go. I’ve been sick most of the weekend {darn sinuses won’t give me a break} and this morning when I got up to publish my No Mom Talk Monday meme, the post that I had originally written has vanished into cyberspace…and I haven’t the slightest idea where it went. […]
