That stuff you're afraid to talk about...the sin you think is too messy? We unpack that here...

Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.

Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.

But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

God wants to use the ugly stuff, too...

We have had so much fun the past few days. We picked Hubby up at the airport bright and early at 9:00 am Tuesday morning. Little Man went right to his daddy. No hesitation, no second guessing…nothing. The only thing we noticed was the sheer amazement and wonder at seeing his Daddy again. He looked […]

Welcome Home, Daddy!

It is nearly midnight here in Alabama. And as much as I need to go to bed, I find myself drawn to the computer to write. I just got off the phone with my husband. We talked tonight for 3 1/2 hours. About everything. In the way that we did when we first started dating. […]

  1. If a person has a booger in their nose. and you can see it, do you tell them? It depends on how well I know them. Someone I am pretty acquainted with, sure. But a total and complete stranger? I doubt it. People find things like that strangely offensive. 2. What are you […]

Getting to know YOU!

We have finally, FINALLY gotten some news back from the Coast Guard [about time, right?] While it’s not exactly the news I was hoping for, it is the news that I was expecting. And who knows? Things could still possibly, maybe, change. Not likely, but God can do anything, right? While Little Man and I […]

It’s About Time…

On this Memorial Day, I am more aware than ever of the sacrifices being made by our men and women in uniform and their families. The ones who gave up their lives to defend the country we call home and protect our freedoms weigh heavy on my heart today. Never have I been prouder to […]

Little Man turned 19 months old yesterday. I can’t figure out where the time is going, but it’s going by fast. A few more months and we’ll be busting down the door of having a two year old. This past month has brought about a lot of change for our family, and even more so […]

19 months and counting

Life is all about experience. Over the years I have attempted to understand things without having first experienced them. I tried to empathize with people in certain circumstances when in actuality I had no clue what they were dealing with. I tried to convince myself as a teenager that I was “in love” though I […]

I feel like this whole being away from my husband is starting to cause more harm than good. I understand that whole “absence makes the heart grow fonder” shenanigan and I truly believe that. To an extent. I think right now my hubby and I are both so stressed out and aggravated that we are […]

I’m so tired. I feel like I am going to crumble under the pressure of staying composed and ‘okay.’ I feel like I don’t really have anyone to talk to about how hard all of this is. I admit it, I suck at the separation thing. I give HUGE props to all of you military […]
