That stuff you're afraid to talk about...the sin you think is too messy? We unpack that here...

Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.

Pain.

There is purpose behind the

There is                  in the chaos,

Mess,

there is meaning in the

Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.

But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

God wants to use the ugly stuff, too...

April 17 was pretty much the hardest day…ever. At least, for me it was. I had to tell my husband goodbye. And let me be the first to tell you that I’m really not that great at goodbyes. I never really have been. I can deal with it; suck it up and handle my emotions, […]

With Christmas right around the corner, the snow in the air (if that’s what you can really call the 15 minutes of flurries we had yesterday) and my husbands impending arrival back home with his family, one can’t help but feel joyous and spirited. My mood is one of extreme excitement, anticipation and overwhelming anxiety. […]

Baby Jesus & the Terrible Two’s

{This is a re-post from last year, but I wanted to bring this topic up for discussion again this season. The hubby and I are still pretty sure we are sticking to our original thoughts on Santa, but I would love to hear some more of your input!} It amazes me the things that you […]

The Great Santa Debate

I’m really not sure why, but all of my thoughts and creative juices seem to start flowing around 9:00 pm every single night. I would love to be able to lay down and just go to sleep like semi-normal people do. But I can’t. Instead, my mind waits until I can’t hold my eyes open […]

Acclimating…again

I’ve already mentioned before that I am a huge fan of Sex and the City. Yes, the language isn’t the most appropriate, and let’s not even get started on the unending promiscuity and fornication. Those aspects aren’t the most appealing in the world. But I’ve always adored Carrie Bradshaw. In so, so many ways she […]

When I grow up…

I am finally beginning to get into the holiday spirit now that the weather has taken a turn toward being COLD [finally] and I’ve started Christmas shopping. Hubby and I adopted a child from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree this year and I spent all day Tuesday shopping for him. I explained to Little Man […]

Oh Christmas Tree!

This past weekend I had the chance to photograph my little guy and my brother-in-law for my Mother-in-laws Christmas photos. It wasn’t too chilly and the wind stayed calm enough that we were able to snag quite a few cute photos for her to use. Unfortunately, I already ordered and had my cards delivered, so […]

Marchman Christmas Photos

Hello all! Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! I know we did! I’m still doing the “gobble wobble” after in taking waaaaay too much turkey, dressing, dumplings, and pecan pie. I’m still completely stuffed and now we are gearing up for Christmas! This is probably going to be one of my favorite Christmases yet. With […]

{This is a repost from the original I wrote last Thanksgiving…I still love this list, and decided to include it again this year…with a few added things at the end.} The things that I am thankful for have made a huge change in the last 3 years. In college, cries of gratitude and thanks fell […]
