Through good and bad, sadness and joy, my heart lies with showing the goodness of God in all seasons. Especially the messy ones.
Every day society tells us that life has to be perfect and orderly to be beautiful. Our day-to-day should be a nothing less than perfect. We need a flawless aesthetic, a five year plan and perfectly curated social media. There's nothing glamorous about disorder and uncertainty. It's not "normal" to struggle.
But God wants to use those ugly parts, too. Those broken memories, those hidden struggles, and those less than beautiful moments.

I’m excited to have Jessica from Freckles and Dirt here to guest post for me today! I just met Jessica a month or two ago, but already feel like we have known each other for years (especially since she addressed me as “Court” in an email this week…and only uber-cool close friends do that). She’s […]
My lovely friend Jessica @ Freckles and Dirt has written a great post today called Did I Ask for your Advice? Make sure you check that out while you’re here! It’s hilarious and something that we can all relate to! I wish blog buttons would play nice. I love showing off everyone’s cute meme buttons, […]
I’ve been debating on whether or not to post this. Pondered whether or not to allow myself to mull it over, dive into how I feel, and allow myself to talk about it. I haven’t really told anyone. Except my husband. And my closest friends. We didn’t even tell our families. I’m not sure why, […]
Today, I’m so excited to have Kathryn @ Our Tiny Big Life guest posting for me! I initially met Kathryn through her photography linkups and posts (the girls got some mad skill, by the way), but was drawn in by her writing and her style with words. I’m sure you guys will see what I’m […]
It’s hard to believe that summer is drawing to a close. The kiddos will be getting ready to go back to school soon (including mine…who will be starting Pre-School in October) and soon all of us “Alaskans” will be preparing for the long, dreary extended hours of darkness. We don’t live in one of the […]
Slowing it Down by Shell @ Things I Can’t Say: This post, paired with this post made for a weepy mommy these last few weeks. With my little guy getting ready to head off to pre-school in another couple of months, I’m learning and being reminded day after day after day, that I’ll never get […]
How was your week? Things were good here. Despite wishing I was at #BlogHer and trying to get caught up on blog comments, things were pretty low key around here. I started my C25K Program on Monday, started keeping track of calories again using My Fitness Pal, and I just feel better all the way […]
Growing up my mom was a stay-at-home parent. She did the school parties, the extracurricular activities, the housework, the laundry, the cooking…you know. Typical “mom” stuff. She rarely complained (though I chalk that up to the fact that when we got old enough, she made my sister and I start cleaning and doing laundry). I […]
