We’re getting ready for winter here on the island. They’re calling for snow showers and freezing temperatures tomorrow (at least, they were the last time I checked) so we’ve been spending most of our time indoors. I did get a chance to go take Little Man’s three year portraits earlier in the week. I’ll be showing those off on Thursday for his big Happy Birthday post, so make sure you keep an eye out for that. I’ve also punched out 8,000+ words in my novel this week and introduced my very first Feature Friday Blogger. I stayed pretty caught up on my reader and dug up a few posts that many of you may not have read yet. Be sure to check them out!
I Don’t Know How She Does it by Gigi @ Kludgy Mom: This isn’t a review of the Sarah Jessica Parker movie. It’s a real look at the things that we moms deal with on a daily basis. The struggles. The battles. The good and the bad. Really, really great post.
Infertility: How to Stay Positive & Practical Tips to Get through it written by Ashlee & shared @ Singing Through the Rain: Most of you know the struggle with conceiving a second child that I’ve had going on lately. It’s a sore subject, one that I am slowly working through in the quiet of my heart and sharing here on my blog. Kathryn was was sweet enough to message me on Facebook the other day to share this post that had been shared on her blog. The posts writer, Ashlee, mentioned that it had been on her heart to share her journey and I believe that it was meant for me. There is a such an important message in this post on learning to not only embrace the struggle but learn how to handle it. If this is something you have struggled with or are struggling with (whether out loud or silently) make sure you read this post.
The Unsung by Nessa and shared @ The Mommyhood Memos: All too often after a newborn baby comes along, everyone showers the new mommy with praise and encouragement. Often forgetting that there is another parent in the equation: The Daddy. I don’t know about all of you, but I never quite feel like I give my husband enough credit for all that he does for me or for our son. He’s a fantastic father and I don’t think either of us would make it without him. This is a beautiful tribute post to the daddies out there.
Fatherly Guilt from Just. Be. Enough: This post was written from a Father’s perspective, but I think it’s something that every parent can identify with. Sometimes it’s so hard to learn to differentiate between the things we want to give our kids and the things that we need to give our kids. I know I speak for a lot of parents when I say that I would love to give my son everything that he wants in life, but that’s no lesson for anyone. This post is so heartfelt and so insightful. You guys will love this one.
