My friend Kathryn from Our Tiny Big Life has started this amazing series for the month of September called Fall Into Grace. If I tried to put into words exactly what this series is about, I’d fall short in comparison to the spectacular introduction that Kathryn gave on her site:
I’ve heard it said that the gift of mercy is when God doesn’t give us what we do deserve; the gift of grace is when he lavishes on us the very thing we don’t deserve. I don’t know about you, but the love of God in his abundant grace to me in all of the messiness of my life and faith journey is the greatest gift I’ve ever known. Time and time again, he has lifted me from the pit, restored my hope and given me an extravagant second {or billionth} chance. Because I know it is his nature, I believe he has done that for you, too.
Today, Kathryn has given me the chance to share my story with all of you. Although I shared my personal testimony several months ago, this post came pouring out of my heart when I sat down to write it. I hope you guys will take a minute to hop over and visit. Make sure you check out the entire series and stick around for the upcoming posts. She’s got a fabulous lineup of bloggers and I’m certain that you guys will love it.
In true tradition, here is a little peek at what I’ve written:
It’s often said that the paths we would like to weave for our lives are never the same as the ones that the Almighty has in mind.
Umm…yeah.
That’s definitely true.
If you’d told me six years ago where I would be today, not only would I not have believed you, but I’d have said you were crazy. I would have told you flat out that you had lost your mind.
This life I’ve lived has been nothing short of rocky. Life just happens sometimes and we can’t control it. For a long time I lived in frustration and anger with the road I’d been given to walk down. I grew up with a great family, was taken care of and loved, but things…unimaginable things for some…just happened to us over and over and over again.
And make sure you check out this months Still Life Standout Winners!
