Hello bloggy friends! I missed you yesterday! {In case you don’t follow my tweets, my laptop charger died…meaning, my computer was dead.} I am in the process of catching up on your blogs, so bare with me. I’m getting there.
Are we really only a week from Christmas? Thankfully, I have finished 99% of my shopping. Hubby’s presents are all wrapped and nestled up under our tree. Little man’s gifts are waiting to be wrapped, and we have a few small things left to pick up for him. Other than that, I am finished. Hubby, on the other hand, hasn’t even started shopping for my gift. Poor guy…he isn’t the best in the world at picking out Christmas presents. Especially when his insanely stubborn wife doesn’t pick out anything that she wants. Not too much on my wishlist this year. Except for some makeup. Some good makeup. And some new clothes. And shoes…I can never have enough shoes. Other than that, I’m not really asking for anything.
And buying clothes in Florida is really a pain in the rear. One day it’s hot, one day it’s cold. One day it’s in between. And all of the stores are selling these fabulous winter clothes that I would get no use out of here. For instance: this weekend the highs are in the low 60’s. Next weekend? Mid 80’s again. Why on Earth would I bother to spend money on sweaters and boots when I’ll be busting out my flip-flops again next week? What a pain…
I am really looking forward to a quiet, relaxing Christmas with my hubby and little man next week. I’m not going to know how to act knowing we don’t have to get up and run around like loonies all week long. We will be able to sit. And relax. And be in our house. Doing nothing, if we choose. And not having to hustle and run and visit. It’s going to be a nice breather for us. We’ll probably spend Christmas Day watching little man’s new Veggie Tale videos and being lazy. Sounds like a plan to me. My in-laws are coming on the 29th to visit over New Years, so we get to do more “Christmas” then.
I’m starting to think of New Years Resolutions {considering we are a mere 2 weeks away from 2010}. I want to get back in shape. Then again, I did say that last year and it didn’t really happen. I think I’m going to cave and go buy myself some of the new Reebok Shape ups or whatever they are called. I went and looked at them the other day. They aren’t the most attractive shoes. Definitely don’t look as good as my New Balance 996’s that I love so much. But I’ve actually read a lot of good reviews from people who have bought them and started using them. They seem to be worth the money. Then again, it would probably be a good idea for me to stop inhaling so many Dr. Pepper’s every day. ::Sigh:: I can’t help it. I’m an addict. I could use a Step Program.
Noah is finally starting to drink from his Sippy Cup a little bit. Yeah, Yeah. I know what you are thinking. He’s almost 14 months old and he just doesn’t like the cup. Doesn’t like it at all. He like his “ba-ba.” I haven’t really pushed it that much because I’ve had so many people tell me that he will pick it up when he gets ready. But I’m to the point now where I think it’s time. I feel like he is probably going to go to a regular cup pretty easily. He likes to pick our cups up and try to drink out of them. He does an ok job, he just tends to spill a lot some down the front of his shirt. It gets a little bit messy. He’s so funny though. He’s got such a personality on him. I swear, the kid is going to be a riot when he gets older.
We bought him some little baby rock t-shirts at Target yesterday. 🙂 They are part of his Christmas and they are adorable. If you know my husband, then you know he is a BIG rock music buff. More the older stuff than all of this new mess. Little Man is getting a “Pink Floyd”, “The Who”, “Batman” and “Queen” t-shirt. Can’t wait to see them on him. They are precious. And better yet, they were only $5. I think that was my favorite part. I am starting to fall in love with Target…and that’s something I never thought I would do.
Anywho. I have some exciting news for all of you coming very soon. I can’t spill the beans just yet because I have some more details to get together before I do, but just stay-tuned. {And no…I am not pregnant for anyone who may have been thinking that.} I am getting ready to do my very first guest post for a great new up-and-coming blogger. She contacted me via email the other day, told me how much she enjoyed my writing, and asked if I would do a post for her. I’m so excited!! I love to write, and am hoping to make a career out of it some day. [If any of you are needing a guest poster, or would like to do a post here on my blog, please email me!]
I also found out yesterday when I got online, that Mandi over at “Capital Heights Mommy” featured me on her blog! She is a young mom who lives in Captial Height’s, Alabama and has an adorable little girl who is about little man’s age. She and her husband are in missions and she writes some fantastic posts on becoming the kind of wife and mother that God calls us all to be. I encourage you to check her out. I promise it will be worth your visit!
Anywho. I know I’ve rambled on and on this morning. So sorry. I needed to clear my mind a little bit and this is always the best outlet. I’ve got some interesting posts planned for the next couple of days. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday! We are heading out to Bed, Bath & Beyond and Toys-R-Us later on today to finish up some Christmas shopping. Hubby needs some more help and I have a few ideas in mind. 🙂
