5 Things Every Blogger Should Know

    All great tips!

I have mixed feelings about niches. I don’t really have one. But I know that those who are way into certain things like photography or crafts or diy or photography or recipes and focus on that, really have a lot of success. I think it just depends on what you want to write about!

  2. Terry Watson says:

I’ve been reading along for a while now. I just wanted to drop you a comment to say keep up the good work.

  3. Laura says:

Sweet! According to you, I’m doing this blogging thing perfectly! I’m rarely posting and I get few comments. Score one for me! 😀

But really, thanks for not making me feel like a total blog-failure. I appreciate it! 🙂

  4. Carolyn says:

Those are great points, I especially agree with not posting everyday. I use my “off” days to read other posts, or do something off of the computer!

  5. I’m one of the 100K! Hopefully, I will soon embark on this blogging journey. Your insights are valuable to me. I also read that it’s important to develop relationships with other bloggers. Aside from attending a conference, does that really happen? It would appear to me that breaking into this world is challenging and that relationships are mostly with readers….am I correct.? And even then, I’m amazed how few bloggers actually reply to comments. (So are there relationships with readers?) I guess that would be a full time job right there if one has any following. So, then, how does this relationship thing happen. It seems that it’s happening for some. Or are blogs like little islands that bump into one another one in a while and are a little more friendly than the purse bump at the sale table? I kinda feel like I’m standing on the fence outside the playground wondering if I’ll find my spot.
    Thanks Courtney!

  6. Vanessa says:

Thank you for sharing this! I love that you said throw the niche out the window. I was stressed about that but then realized, blogging is for me and what I love and I love many things, therefore, I write about many things!!

    Love your blog! 🙂

  7. Sarah P says:

Great list and great advice! I’ve got to embrace #4 – I feel like I’m letting people down if I don’t post every day!

  8. This advice is stellar! The one about social media is spot on. I did not realize how invaluable it would be for connecting with other bloggers. Thanks for linking up! 🙂

  9. Veronica says:

Thabk you for this Courtney, I’ve been following your blog for about 8 months, and drooling over your photography (okay, the camera more than anything).

I’m working on my own blog, and I’m glad to hear someone say NO NICHE IS OK!

Also how to feel about Memes? I see that as a popular thing these days.

  10. Bernadette @ B3HD says:

All really great and timeless bits of advice on blogging. All traps folks (myself included) get sucked in to from time to time. Just regroup, get your groove back on and keep these in mind – it all works out.
