I was reading over my blog yesterday and realized that I haven’t done a post about Noah in a while. An Epic Failure for the Mom Blogger. Isn’t that why it’s called a “Mom Blog” so we can talk, rant and brag about our child(ren)? So today, I’m going to do just that. I’m going to talk all about my son. Give you pictures to look at and tell you that I think he’s the cutest thing in the world. 🙂
I guess he’s going for the “model” pose. 🙂
A little bit blurrier than I had hoped, but this is his favorite hobby: playing ball. Throwing it, catching it, bouncing it off of things, hitting daddy in the head. LOL Anything he can do with it.
He got a Curious George Jack-in-the-Box for Christmas. He’s a little hesitant to have George pop out, but he thinks it’s hilarious when he does.
Playing Piano with his Grandmommy [Hubby’s Mom]. Sorry about the Red Eye. Been trying to remove it, but I can’t seem to get all of it.
His Grandmommy bought him this super cute “Bass Pro Shop” lounge chair for Christmas. He sits in it to watch his cartoons in the mornings. {Oh yea, do you notice the yellow ball in his hand? Told ya!}
Yea. He’s carrying around the box…with the pizza in it. 🙂
I can’t believe he is going to be 15 months old on the 27th. It seems like just yesterday I had found out I was having a son, and now he’s here. Walking and jabbering and throwing tantrums. People don’t mention to you that they grow up so quickly when you have a baby. It seems like every time I turn around he is doing something new and something different. He’s learning. His little wheels are turning as he tries to figure things out. It makes me smile. I love to see that. I love to know that I am helping to contribute to his little mind developing and soaking up knowledge.
He’s walking now. Really well. He isn’t one of those kids that knows how to walk but chooses to crawl most of the time instead. He rarely crawls, and if he does it’s because he’s playing a game. Usually that game involves him straightening his legs and putting his head on the ground and moving things around with the top of his head. It’s really very funny. I’ll try to snap a picture next time he does it. He walks fast, too. I’m guessing he will be running within another month or so. He’s gotten it down pretty easily. He’s still not the best walking with shoes, though. Those give him a harder time. He stumbles some, but he’s getting better.
We’re still drinking from a bottle. Yeah….I think that’s partly because I’m lazy and don’t have the patience to listen to him throw a fit. He will drink from a cup if I give him something he isn’t used to. Like Chocolate Milk, or Gatorade, or Kool-Aide. But if it’s water, regular milk or Apple Juice, it’s got to come in a bottle. I couldn’t really help that though. He came off of formula and totally on solids at 8 1/2 months. I had to give him liquids, too and Apple Juice was the cheapest and easiest to water down because his tummy wasn’t quite ready for whole milk yet. So, almost 7 months later, we are still digging the Apple Juice. Don’t worry. It’s only about 2 ounces of juice and the other 8 ounces is water. Just enough to make it have some flavor.
As you can tell from the pictures, he loves to play ball. Big bouncy balls, little bitty balls that fit in his hand…it doesn’t matter. He likes to throw them. And bounce them off of things. And chase them. And hit his daddy in the head with them. And play catch. And fetch. It’s funny. We have all of these toys lying around the house and he wants to play with $1 bouncy balls from Wal Mart all day. Oh well. It doesn’t matter. As long as he’s having fun.
He’s fascinated with our DVD shelf in the living room. He loves to pull them off the shelves and sit in the middle of them. He like to look at books-ours or his. He knows how to help get himself dressed, including his shoes and socks. When it’s time to go, I can tell him to go get his shoes and he’ll bring them to me. He still has to have his blankie every time we go somewhere. Which is ok, because I think it’s insanely cute. And they are small and very easy to wash. Atleast it’s not a pacifier. He likes to play with his ABC magnets on the fridge. He likes to take baths. LOVES to splash water everywhere and throw his toys out of the bathtub.
He knows how to stack his blocks up. He knows how to put the round pegs in the holes…He knows where the food is in the kitchen and has NO trouble letting us know when he wants something to eat. He has also suddenly taken to wanting to throw items in the toilet. Which has reulted in the bathroom doors being sealed off until we go buy some of the those potty lid locks. He likes to crawl into his toy box and play. But when he does, he can’t get out. He likes putting stuff in and out of boxes and pulling laundry out of the dryer. He likes to do the Jillian Michaels “Shred” with me too. He likes the strength training the best I think. He likes to play with the weights. And the jumping jacks. If he can figure out how to jump up and down he’ll have it, because he’s aced the arm motions.
He likes to climb. On everything. The couch. The bed. The ottoman. The stairs. He’s terrified of the vaccum cleaner. He’s started waking up from naps and playing for about 30 or 40 minutes in his crib before he calls one of us to come get him. And his naps are getting scarcer. One long nap in the morning, and a short 45 minute nap in the afternoon and that about does it. But he’s a great sleeper so it doesn’t matter. He’ll sleep 12-14 hours every night and I LOVE it.
I don’t know how much he weighs exactly, but I’m guessing about 24 or 25 pounds. Probably 33 inches tall or so I guess. He’s pretty slim. Just a wee bit of belly on him. But that’s going quickly now that he’s on the move so much. Oh and did I mention that Veggie Tales are the highlight of his life? He’s probably Bob and Larry’s biggest fan. He could watch it all day long if I let him. When I turn it on, he goes and finds his Big Larry and plops down in front of the TV to watch intently for the duration of the show. I love it. That gives me time to get things done. And he loves Pop-Tarts. Those are a new favorite breakfast food. The little piglet can eat 2 by himself. So funny.
So there ya’ go. My mommy post for the week. I need to start doing this more often. It gave me a chance to really see how much he’s changes lately. Sigh. They get big so fast. Can I put him in something to contain him so he doesn’t change anymore? I want him to stay little. LOL
