The CSB Legacy Notetaking Bible

I have loved the notion of Journaling and Notetaking Bibles since I received my first one probably seven years ago. I own and have owned a WIDE variety of these but there was always one thing missing from them that disappointed me: the family legacy pages. Those pages you typically see in older KJV Bibles like our grandparents used; the place where you can include your family tree, birthdays and deaths. I always loved flipping through that part of my grandmothers Bible and hoped to be able to pass something similar on to my children.
Enter the CSB Legacy Notetaking Bible.
My Initial Impression
This is going to be a beautiful heirloom one day…I wish I’d had this sooner…
This is a remarkable new addition to any Bible aficionado’s (or avid learners) library. The leather strap is a great feature to keep everything in one place and together. I don’t worry about my stuff (because I can’t be the only one who shoves pieces of paper and church bulletins in their bible) falling out and I love the overall look the strap brings.
What’s Inside?
The Legacy Notetaking Bible is translated using the super easy to read Christian Standard Translation. This is one of my favorite translations and joins the ranks with other study/devotional bibles like the ones from She Reads Truth and (In)courage.
Leaving a Legacy
I love this aspect of the Bible. It’s a short little section at the beginning of the Bible that talks about the importance and the significance of leaving behind a legacy of faith. There’s also a section with information about your family tree, birthdays, and marriages. This is a great way to keep your family heritage alive and updated. I know for me personally, I don’t always think about how quickly those names and that heritage can be forgotten. This is a great way to keep it in the family.
Legacy Verses
At the end of each Book of the Bible, there’s a special section to record verses to memorize so that you can write down those John 3:16 type verses for the next generation. Sometimes, when your wanting to memorize scripture, it can be easy to not know where to begin. I know for me, I don’t always know what verses I should try to memorize. This section is a great way to help out your kids someday.
A few other features
This bible is meant to withstand the test of time and remain a family heirloom for years and years to come. The wide margins are ideal for writing down prayers and notes so that someday, your loved ones can look back and see your faith journey spread across the pages.

The Downsides
The only downside, for me personally, was the lack of cross references. I use cross references more than anything else when I study. I love to let the WORD interpret the WORD. It’s one of my favorite study methods and has proven to be the most efficient and informative for me. This Bible doesn’t lay completely flat and at times, the flap/strap can get in the way. But, there are also other versions of this Bible that don’t have a strap on them, so that shouldn’t be a reason to stop you from purchasing one.
Overall Impression
This is definitely a Bible that I am glad to have added to my repertoire. I have been looking for a Bible that would allow for me to keep notes and a heritage of sorts in a NEAT way rather than writing it on a piece of paper or on one of those blank pages at the front and back.
