Today has been chaotic from the get-go. I’ve been sick most of the weekend {darn sinuses won’t give me a break} and this morning when I got up to publish my No Mom Talk Monday meme, the post that I had originally written has vanished into cyberspace…and I haven’t the slightest idea where it went. So I’m just going to have to wing it this morning. I spent 45 minutes looking for it, trying to recover it, and to no avail, it’s just gone.
Instead, I’ll grace the presence of the screen with a random array of thoughts that don’t include my son.
I’m hoping beyond hope that we land a house this week. We are nearing the three week mark on our stay here in the Guest House and it’s getting old extremely fast. Thankfully, we do have a laundry facility and a kitchen that we can utilize if we choose to, but everyone else tends to choose to utilize said kitchen every time we do. So we pretty much just avoid it if we can. There are several houses open [or so we’ve heard] so maybe, just maybe, we can return our lives to some state of normalcy at some point this century.
In case you didn’t notice [and I’m sure that you did] the blog underwent some changes [and will continue to change over the next day or two] due to a few emails I received about the layout and the design. Apparently the landing page was too difficult to navigate and people weren’t understanding where to go or how to get to my actual blog. That’s not what I was wanting, so I changed it and now it’s just back to a regular blog. You land on the blog screen and ta-da! The writing is right there for you. And it also seems that the tagline I was using was eerily similar to another tagline for another blog. It was one I’d never even heard of and one I’d never stumbled across, but someone was kind enough to point it out to me. So thank you!
The weather here in Kodiak has been nasty, wet, and dreary for the past several days. All of the beautiful white snow we were welcomed with a few weeks ago has been washed away and replaced by wet mush. It’s not nearly as pretty to look at, but we are still really enjoying the town and the friends we are making. The husband is loving his job and it makes for great moods on his part, which in turn makes for great moods all around. His hours aren’t too shabby either, which I happen to adore.
I’m eager to have my own kitchen and start cooking again. We’ve already decided that we need to expand our meal base…start branching out and cooking new and different things. Which means, that as I start venturing out in the cooking world, you guys will start seeing a few more recipes and whatnot. And if YOU have a recipe that you think is a must try, I would for you to send it my way!
Anyone else have any issues with Feedburner lately? I got up this morning to find that my subscriber number had dropped by 200! I’m not sure if it had something to with the move from Blogger to WordPress, or if Feedburner is just being stupid like the Google Friend Connect thing is…because it’s still ticking me off. I’m hoping there is just some sort of glitch maybe, because I’m kind of bummed out to see my numbers back down. I assumed it would happen when I moved, but I would like my followers back. 🙂
Hope you guys have a great Monday! Maybe I can find my original post and share it with you guys later on this week or next week. Don’t forget to include your link below! And there WILL be a button to grab next time, I promise!
