It’s been a long week. Busy, but long. Here’s what all went on around my house:
+Monday: Noah slept till 9:00 [huge relief as he’s usually up at the crack of dawn]. The refrigerator starts making an even louder noise that it had been for the past 2 weeks. It’s no longer cooling as well as it should. Got the ENTIRE house clean [except for vaccuming, because it scares Noah so I have to do that when Josh is at home to keep him calm].
+Tuesday: Skipped Mom’s Linc because 1) Noah was ill and cranky and running a 100* fever, & 2) He was still sleeping, which meant I was still sleeping. Noah’s fever got worse all day, which means I spent the majority of my day keeping him comforted. I knew he was getting sick when all he wanted was for me to sit and hold him all day. He ended sleeping about 7 hours Tuesday, and then slept all night that night. His fever got up to 102*, and didn’t drop but 1* after a tepid bath, tylenol and a cool wash cloth on his little face and back. Ended up calling the doctor. Appointment the next day.
+Wednesday: Pay Day. Doctor’s appointment at 9:20. Sit in the doctor’s office for about an hour and a half before they ever tell me what’s wrong. Flu swab was negative [thankfully], but he does have a cold and an Ear Infection in his left ear. First one ever. Pay the $12 copay, reschedule his 1 Year Well Baby Checkup to November, and get a prescription for Ammoxacilan. Grab some Chick-Fil-A for lunch, drop Noah’s meds off at Walmart, take him home, put him down for his nap, fold clothes and tidy up the house, go get Josh. The fridge is DEAD. Not cooling and sounds like it’s going to BLAST OFF. Call the landlord [who speaks little English and LOTS of Russian]. We can’t understand a WORD he is saying. Spend 2 hours on the phone between our leasing agent, the landlord and refrigerator repair men. Finally find one that isn’t going to charge $100 or more and can come soon! Run to Walmart, pick up Noah’s meds [a whole $3.00!] and run home to get ready for church. FPU then Chick-Fil-A…then BED.
+Thursday: Noah’s fever has gone down. Repair man comes at 10:00, gives me an estimate [$229 for a new fan and fan motor]. Leaves and plans to come back at 5:00. I have to deduct what we have to pay for the fridge from the rent…which I pay in a money order. Head to Walmart when Josh gets off to cash in the money order. Get the register, they tell me to make it out to Walmart, sign the back and let them have it. IT. WON’T. GO. THROUGH, Comes back as a FRAUDULENT money order. They tell me I can’t cash it there and will have to take it to the bank. LOL I can’t. It’s made out to WalMart. Stand in Walmart for over an hour while the manager calls 5 or 6 800 numbers before they will cash my money order. Finally get that done, head home, pay the fridge guy and go get groceries. Spend only $108 [including Diapers] for 2 weeks of groceries, come home, cook a pizza and watch Grey’s with the husband.
Whew. Long week. Busy week. I hope the weekend is more layed back and relaxed than this week has been so far. Josh has duty, but I’m hoping that doesn’t require much this weekend. Got to clean up the house again…at some point. Hopefully hanging out with some friends this weekend. Church on Sunday. Hope everyone has a happy Friday!
