My birthday was this weekend. I can honestly say it was the best birthday I think I have ever had. Not sure if it’s because it was the first birthday I got to celebrate with Noah, or just because it was a good birthday in general. The husband bought me everything that I asked for. (Not a big major list…a new planner, a few good ink pens, a new purse, and some sunglasses…) He cooked supper for me Friday night and we had some close friends over to eat with us. He bought me a Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake. YUM! Noah slept perfectly Friday night (Actually, he’s been sleeping perfectly anyway…). Josh took me shopping and got me a few new shirts and a new dress for our big Birthday Date/Parental Break Saturday Night.
Saturday we spent most of the day at the pool. Josh took me to Starbucks for my absolute FAVORITE treat in the world: Venti White Mocha Frappacino. We got ready and went to see Transformers 2. (I know, I know I’m a big nerd.) It was an utterly fantastic movie. Lots of action and stuff…Anyway. Then we went to Chilis and ate supper and came back home to find that our child had not been the little angel we assumed he would be. Apparently he is suffering a bit from seperation anxiety and freaked out for an hour after we left. Oh Well. He’ll outgrow that (fingers crossed…)
We slept semi-late this morning. Then again, I refer to “sleeping late” as not getting up before 7:00 considering my son is an early bird. Layed around watching TV for a while, went to eat BBQ for lunch and came home to watch some more movies. We were going to go to the park but it kept clouding up and thundering. My luck, we would have gotten there and it would have flooded. Stupid Florida summer showers.
All together, the weekend was a success. Absolutely wonderful. On a different note, I started reading “Bad Mother” by Ayelet Waldman. Let me just say that it is the perfect book for any stay-at-home mom who has ever been: bored out of her mind, wondered what she gave up, and been frustrated with her role in life. I kept reading reviews of it and thought it was definately something I needed to check out. So far, I was right. Another one of my perfect birthday gifts from my outstanding husband. (Who by the way, says he wants to start blogging…much to my encouragement…)
Anywho. On tomorrows “blog agenda”:
1. Post photos from the weekend.
2. Planner description…
3. A full on “About Me” post (I am realizing that alot of my readers really know absolutely nothing about me…)
Sleep well my bloggy friends. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend 🙂
