I’ve been a fan of I Should Be Folding Laundry for a while now. I found her through her You Capture challenge, and just couldn’t turn away. One of my favorite aspects of her blog is her Friday Morning Coffee posts. These posts are just sort of updates on her daily life, random tidbits of information about things going on her life…just the really persona stuff. Things that it seems like she wants to remember. Mainly, more of a journalistic approach to her blog.
After reading through some of her archives, I thought that maybe this is an aspect of blogging that I might want to bring to my own little corner of the blogosphere. I write about a lot of personal things, and generally keep a pretty well updated record of things going on in our life, but since Me Time Monday kind of dwindled out, I was looking for a new something to fill its place.
I’m not ready to jump back into a full blown meme yet…it just didn’t work out for me, and I don’t have the energy to come up with something new just yet.
So, I’m going to take this approach.
Spend Monday’s journaling and writing about our day to day life. These probably won’t be my most popular posts, but I really don’t care. I started blogging as a way to keep our family informed about our lives, and that’s what I want to continue to do. Especially since we live in Alaska, so far from home.
I don’t know that these will always be about random stuff.
Just sort of a “whatever pops into my mind” kind of day.
A brain dump, of sorts.
A day to just sit down and write whatever is on my mind without the pressure of a meme, a link up or a blog hop to join.
That being said…
Our weekend was as busy as the last four weekends have been. The hubs has a pretty big test to take today (wish him luck! It’s for his advancement in November), so he spent a lot time studying. We had a first birthday party to go to on Saturday, and then I baked a birthday cake for the neighbors son. He fancies my Grandmother’s Peanut Cake Recipe, so I made one for him. Then yesterday, we had some friends over to grill and hang out. It was a pretty chill kind of day, which I appreciated considering the chaos that has been our weekends here lately.
Did I mention that I slept till almost 11:00 both days this weekend?
Yeah, the husband is awesome like that.
I took a few snapshots of the little guy this weekend, too.
I got this idea from Pinterest, but it didn’t look nearly as fabulous as the one I saw.
He wouldn’t be still love enough for me to really capture it like I wanted. So I’ll have to work on that.
I caught up on the laundry yesterday, but my bathrooms need cleaning something fierce today. So that’s what I’ll be around doing.
Keep your eyes peeled for a pretty fantastic giveaway this week! I am just going to give you one hint as to what it might be.
It IS Photography Related. And you guys will most likely love it.
Because I do.
Hope you all have a great Monday!
I’m off to scrub the toilet.
