I’m kind of sitting here at the computer aimlessly trying to figure out what to share for today.
Nothing is coming to mind right off the bat. Tends to happen on occasion for those of us who blog. Inspiration comes and inspiration goes. Post ideas come and then they pass. I have a few things sitting in the “drafts” bin of my blog, but nothing that is speaking to me right now.
Can you guys believe that we’re in the last week of September already?! October is right on top of us, meaning that the holidays are right around the corner. I saw an InstaGram photo the other day where someone posted a picture of Walmart’s Christmas Display. Really?! Can we get through Halloween first?
October brings a lot for our little family it seems. The husband is taking two weeks off this month to study for his Advancement Service Wide Exam the first of November, then there’s Little Man’s Birthday party to plan for. I can’t believe my baby boy is going to be three just a month from tomorrow. When did that happen?
We’ve been back and forth on what kind of birthday party to have. We did Cars last year, but didn’t really have a big birthday because the husband wasn’t there. So we’ve been in debate for several weeks as to whether or not to have a Cars party, a Toy Story party or a Thomas the Train party. He’s into all three, but which one he loves the most just depends on which day of the week it is. Whenever we’ve asked him, though, the conversation goes something like this:
Me: “Noah, what kind of birthday party do you want to have this year?”
Noah: ::Blank Stare::
Me: “What kind of CAKE do you want mommy and daddy to get you for your birthday?”
Noah: “Umm….Buzz, Woody, Horse [meaning Bullseye], Jesse, Dinsor [dinosaur=Rex], Porkchop [you know, “Evil Doctor Porkchop”], Slink dog Cake!”
I guess that kind of makes it clear as to what he’s got in mind, right? What can I say, the kid knows what he wants.
I started reading The Help Saturday night. Not sure where the book is going, but the context has me sucked in. Love that the author actually wrote the story in ebonics. Did you guys know that she graduated from The University of Alabama? That’s right. Roll Tide. Ahem…sorry. Got off on my college football tangent.
Reading a good book always puts the spark to write back in my heart. I’m not sure when on EARTH I would find time to do that on top of everything else I’ve got going on, but the ambition and the dream never dies. I think that I may try to snag a seat next year to the BlogHer Writers Conference instead of the regular BlogHer Conference I was planning to attend. Writing has always been what I really wanted to do, and this blog continues to make that dream more of a determination. We’ll see. I don’t do to well with paid sponsorships around here, so it looks like I’ll be footing my own bill to the conference if I decide to go.
Did you guys see the Giveaway I have going on right now? If you didn’t, you need to check it out. There are several ways to enter and the more you enter, the better chance you have at winning (duh).
WHO watched Grey’s Anatomy Thursday night?! What do you think of the coming season? I’m thinking that the Chief’s wife might pass away this season. It seems to make sense that he’d take the wrap for Meredith to spend some time with his wife if she’s worse off than originally imagined. I mean, I never really anticipated that Meredith and Derrick would find a cure for Alzheimer’s since, you know, there isn’t a real cure. I’ve already ready that this will be Patrick Dempsey’s last season, so it will be interesting to see what happens with him. They’ve already killed off/gotten rid of three of my other favorite character’s so it was only a matter of time before they ditched another.
At least we’ll still have McSteamy to stare at, right?
And since I missed iPhonography Friday, here’s a little peek at our week last week:
Looks like a good week. Sounds like you have a toy story party in your future. I need to read The Help. I have heard it is good.
I kept hearing rave reviews about that book, so I snagged it at Walmart and I’m loving it so far. Hope you guys are having a great week!
