I hope this weeks recap isn’t a frustration to you guys; especially after my massive photo overload last week. I took as many shots this week as I did last week. I like being able to look back on these and see the tiny glimpses of our day to day life. I haven’t explored many new apps or anything (I’m a total instagram junkie…can’t help it). But it does the job, and I always have shots to remember the small things about our week. Thinking of compiling them into a coffee table book or something.
This week has been pretty lax. We had people over EVERY day last weekend, and I didn’t have much energy to do anything. So we didn’t. Aside from hitting up the park for a play date and taking a few afternoon strolls around the block, we have been at home most of the week. And that’s been fine with me. I’m still exhausted. Here’s a little peak at our week:
[ONE] My son is a total clown. That’s all that there is to it.
[TWO] The sun has actually made an appearance the past few days. So I’ve had an excuse to wear my still-brand-new-only-been-worn-once-before-this Nikes. Seriously. Bought them after we got to the island and haven’t had a reason to wear them.
[THREE] I love this kid. Seriously. He totally and completely MELTS my heart.
[FOUR] Again, he’s a total clown. Doing his “posing” thing…
[FIVE] Dr. Pepper is my Nemesis. This one in the shot was the first one I’d had in WEEKS. I’m trying to cut down my caffeine, but this particular day, it was just calling my name.
[SIX] The other week the husband was complaining because we eat the same things all the time. So I whipped out my new cookbook from The Pioneer Woman and made him a few things. One of them being homemade cornbread. It was pretty much fabulous.
[SEVEN] The other day, while taking his bath, Noah just randomly looked at me and said, “Mommy! Look (in)side my mouf!” So…I did.
[EIGHT] My grandmother used to make this really spectacular Peanut Cake for Christmas and Thanksgiving every year. It’s one of those “special occasion” type cakes. When she died, my mom started making them. When Hubs and I were dating, he fell in love with this cake. So this year for his birthday, he asked me to make him one. So…I did. I actually ended up making TWO. One for his party on Friday, and another for Saturday. Yeah. I’m awesome like that.
[NINE] There is absolutely nothing better than an old bottled coke. Okay. Except maybe an old bottled Dr. Pepper. But those are almost impossible to find.
[TEN] My husband and my son think that throwing popcorn in each other’s mouths was the coolest thing EVER.
[ELEVEN &TWELVE] Is it wrong that I’m so upset by these photo’s? I took these at the park the other day when we were on our Play Date. Little Man can climb all the way up the play set, to the tallest slide, and go down by himself. He doesn’t need my help anymore. When did he outgrow me?
[THIRTEEN] If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook, then you know that my expensive, cute, matches-my-makeup-bag hairdryer the husband bought me for Christmas pooped out on me the other day. It started shooting sparks and everything. So I went to the Exchange and bought the cheap $10 one. And love it.
[FOURTEEN] What? Your bathroom counter doesn’t look like the Start/Finish Line at Daytona or Talladega? Guess it must just be ours.
[FIFTEEN] It’s become a morning ritual for Little Man to join me at my computer desk while I drink my coffee and read my blogs. He crawls up in my lap with his cup and his dog and watches TV while I read. It’s a fun little routine for me. I love that he loves to snuggle up with me.
[SIXTEEN] My first negative pregnancy test. If you want to read about it, and why I took it, then you can check out this post right here.
Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend. Don’t forget to check out iPhoneography with Courtney, InstaFriday at Life Rearranged and you can link up with the Weekday Recap with Amy @ A Good Life below.
