Dear Noah,
Another month. As of yesterday, you are four months away from turning three. THREE. When did you grow up? And why are you continuing to do it so fast?!
This last month has been a busy one. Your vocabulary continues to grow by leaps and bounds. You’re piecing together sentences and adding new words on a daily basis. You’re starting to say smaller words and include them in your sentence structure. Words like “with,” “and,” “is,” and “am.” It makes it a whole lot easier to understand sentences.. And it makes sentences like “daddy eats with mommy” a lot less humorous now that the ‘with’ is back into the sentence structure.
You’re still weighing in at about 33 pounds, and standing a little over three feet tall. One day, I think your legs will catch up with the rest of you. But for now, it’s working for you. Your wearing a size 3T pants and a 3T/4T shirt (depending on who makes the clothes).
You’re still a total cheese in front of the camera. In fact, you’ve recently started this new thing where you think you have to have your camera when I have mine. See?
Despite the challenges that come with you getting closer and closer to three years old, this has been the most fun age so far. Although you try my patience, although you tend to drive me a little bit crazy, you are so much fun! You laugh and you play and you act goofy. You cut up, you giggle, and you act like a complete spaz sometimes (that, my son, you get from your mommy).
You’re still all about playing ball with daddy. Baseball, basketball, football, golf…as long as you can throw it or hit it, your into it. You’ve still got quite the arm. It seems to amaze people at how well you can throw and hit, and how into sports you are already at such a young age. As long as it’s something that you enjoy, mommy and daddy are all for it. But we will never become “those parents” that force you into something if you don’t like it.
Whether you choose to pursue sports, or photography, or a career in medicine like your daddy, you decision will always be just that: your decision. We have too many family members as it is who try to live out there dreams through their children. Playing sports year around isn’t the road we will take. Academics will always come first in this house. Always. (I know you’re only almost three, but it’s never to early to start thinking about that, right?)
You still into trains and cars, and we’re planning to take you to see the new Cars 2 movie in the next week or so. You’re also really interested in airplanes and helicopters. I think it has to do with the fact that we live on a military base and the planes are all over the places all the time. When we see things like this, you go crazy.
It’s so much fun watching you grow and learn and develop on a day to day basis. I love seeing you fall in love with new ideas and new hobbies. I love that you are growing up, but still have just a hint of baby left in you.
Although you’re exploring new “big boy” ideas like a big boy and potty training, you are still so much a baby (in my eyes, anyway). You still sleep with your puppy dog, you still snuggle up on the couch with mommy and daddy when you first wake up in the morning. It melts my heart every single time.
And you’re still a daddy’s boy. 100% daddy’s boy.
We love you kiddo.
You’re the best.
I continue to look forward to every single day that we spend with you.
Love always,
Mommy
So sweet!
LOVE that last shot – frame it!
