I love Starbucks. I mean totally, completely, head over heels, 100% infatuated with Starbucks. ::Sigh:: If they delivered, I would be in a huge mess. Venti White Mocha Frappacino. My favorite. I wish I had one right now. I found a recipe on the internet that was supposed to be a “mock” version of their mocha frappacino’s, but it looks like it would be pretty crappy. I made one myself back when I lived with my parents. Really simple: coffee beans (flavor of your choice…I don’t know much about coffee and can’t really tell the difference. Unless it’s Folgers and Maxwell House. That, I can tell.) ice, chocolate syrup, cocoa, and whipped cream. Throw it all in a blender and viola! You’re done. They are pretty good. I may have to go get some coffee and start making my own because this addiction I have costs too much. Seriously. They are $4.82 a piece! I could always go small and cut out the .82, but what’s a measly .82 for an extra 12 oz of coffee goodness?
You know what else I love? Those 24 packs of already balled up Pillsbury Chocolate Chip Cookies. You know, the ones that are sitting in that nice little tray for you to unwrap and pop in the oven for 10 minutes? Those. They are fabulous! I love chocolate chip cookies, but when I buy them in the big rolls, they never taste as good. They either get too done and get hard and crunchy or they don’t get done on the inside and are too gooey. Those that you buy pre…balled…hmm…those turn out the best. I have a plate full on my kitchen table right now that I may have to invade in a few minutes. Since, I can’t have Starbucks right now.
Blogging. I love to blog. I started my blog about a year ago and didn’t get too much into it, but over the past several months I have discovered the wide world of mommy bloggers. Blogging is a big deal for moms right now. I never realized it. I guess it’s the newest thing since Facebook. I mean, there are some werido bloggers too, but tons and tons and TONS of mom stuff. I’ll be honest with you though, the constant giveaway blogs and never ending reviews bore me. I like to read some reviews (you can see I have even started some of my own), but good grief! I’ve pulled up a couple of blogs and that’s apparently all these women do-shop and then write about what they have bought. And the giveaways! I understand the women who have Etsy shops (ha ha…check me out and my blog lingo!) and want to get their product out there, but again, I’ve come across alot of blogs lately and all I see in the posts/archives are “–Review” “–Giveaway”.
I like to read about people’s lives. (I think the word that would be…nosy?) I like to read about women who are doing things with their kids, sharing their pictures and their stories, their projects and their personal lives. I like to know that I’m not the only mom out there that’s dealing with certain things. Any mom can shop and write a review about what they bought. Give me the real stuff. Stuff that will distract me from what I have on my mind. Stuff that will make me truly believe that I’m a good mom. Stuff that I can print and save to do with my little guy one day (soon…) Stuff that makes me feel better about the hassles and struggles I go through.
That’s why I follow the blogs that I follow. They are real. They have REAL stuff on them. And I’ll admit, I’m a little superficial…I like cute blogs. I like pretty blogs with neat backgrounds and neat headers and cute buttons. I’ve caught myself skipping over blogs on momdot.com because they weren’t showing cute buttons. That’s bad, right? To be superficial in the blog world? That’s really bad. I don’t want people doing that to me…LOL. I’m going to go back and read all of those blogs I skipped over. ::Slaps my own hand:: Shame on me.
Anywho. Don’t really know where all of that came from tonight. It’s the first day of August and I have a new signature, so I wanted to make sure I got something posted for today. Not much going on this weekend. Josh has to go back to work in the morning for a few hours and then we’re going to spend the afternoon at the pool and take little man to the park. I’ll try to remember my camera this go around because he is such a cheeser on the swings! Hope everyone had a great Saturday! Blog you all tomorrow!
