Steps to my future

How was everyone’s weekend? Ours was dreary, rainy and quite dull. And I loved it. Thankfully we didn’t get any snow [as was predicted] instead just lots of nasty rain and wind. Nasty enough to keep us all inside watching Netflix movies and the NCAA tournament all weekend, and it gave me some time to lounge on the couch reading a few Photography Workbooks my fabulous neighbor let me borrow.

The husband and I made some pretty big decisions as far as my business goes, this weekend. We talked it out after spending some time chatting all things photography with Amy and her husband, and I’ve decided to give myself another year/year and a half to get my business started. I’m planning to spend this time building up my equipment [upgrading my camera, purchasing some new quality lenses and creating a prop collection to use for sessions] and learning. There is still so, so, so much for me to learn. I’m taking my first workshop [Eeeep!] in June, and hoping to upgrade my camera next month.

As for the Graphic Design business. There are a few online classes I’m getting ready to take, and there are a few software programs I’ve got to get to get that off the ground. But after I take this online class, I’m hoping to incorporate some Pre-Made Photography Logos into my Etsy Shop. Then gradually, I would like to get to the point of offering Custom WordPress Designs and installation, and possibly custom Etsy Shop Packages. There are a few things still in the works for this, but I’m excited nonetheless. I’ve decided I’m not going to be working on the Blogger platform. It took me a while to come to that decision, but there are so, so, so many blogger designers who are fantastic, and not quite so many WordPress Designers [because it’ s a harder system to customize]. I’ll possibly be giving away a design once I get myself setup. But that’s down the road a ways.
