I received a Review copy of the NIV Artisan Collection Journaling Bible from the good folks at Zondervan in exchange for my honest opinion. Their generosity in no way influenced my opinion.
This Bible arrived by surprise one day at my front door. Typically, I know when I have new products coming but this one was a surprise. I’ve worked with Zondervan several times in the past, so it was a pleasant surprise to get a chance to review one of these new Artisan collection Bibles.
It’s really blue, but I love the marble effect and the gold page gilding.
I admit, I’m not a big reader of the NIV translation anymore. It used to be my translation of choice, but then the ESV came along, then the CSB and eventually I found myself comfortable enough to even use the NKJV. But, I love the NIV translation to read to my kids or even as a comparison when I’m studying different scriptures.
The Artisan Collection is a cover design version of the NIV Journaling Bible. There are multiple cover options, including a few specifically geared toward younger girls.
It’s not very often you find a Journaling Bible with Red Lettering. This was a pleasant surprise for me! I have always loved the significance of Jesus’ words in the Scriptures and always appreciate when they’re written in red. I think Red Letters by Crowder is one of my favorite songs regarding the symbolism and the remembrance of the grace that set us free where the red letters are concerned.
At the end of each Book of the Bible, there’s a special section to record verses to memorize so that you can write down those John 3:16 type verses for the next generation. Sometimes, when your wanting to memorize scripture, it can be easy to not know where to begin. I know for me, I don’t always know what verses I should try to memorize. This section is a great way to help out your kids someday.
It seems like a simple thing, but I can never get enough ribbon markers in my Bible. Two sure beats one, but I am a big advocate of ribbons. #GiveMeAlltheRibbonMarkers. A few additional things to highlight:
Overall this Bible is beautiful and a stunning option for anyone who enjoys the NIV translation. I did find that it was a little heavy feeling (perhaps the hardback I’m unaccustomed to). However, that wouldn’t deter me from using it or purchasing it as it’s not really any heavier than any other hardback bible
It’s a stunning work of custom craftsmanship paired with beautifully designed typeface and design. This would be a great Bible for anyone looking to add their own custom artwork to the inside pages, or users of the NIV translation simply looking for a great journaling bible option.
