Slowing it Down by Shell @ Things I Can’t Say: This post, paired with this post made for a weepy mommy these last few weeks. With my little guy getting ready to head off to pre-school in another couple of months, I’m learning and being reminded day after day after day, that I’ll never get this time back. These innocent moments will soon be lost. They’ll be gone. And it will leave me wish I’d just let go and enjoyed them a bit longer. Shell talks about a really beautiful mommy experience in this post; one that I’m sure all of us can relate to. (She also listed her Third Installment of “Parenting Do’s & Don’ts…” worth checking out, too.
Half Marathon Training—Emotional Hurdles Suck by Michelle @ Scraps of my Geek Life: I read this post not two hours after I completed Day One of my Couch to 5K Program. Michelle’s training for a marathon. This week she ran 10 miles 10. As in one-oh. That kind of distance is so far beyond the point of “WOW” that I can’t even put it into words. Even though this post is about running, there is a ton that she talks about here that applies to life in general. Setting goals, moving past the pain and the ache and just getting out there and going after what you want. Great read.
Sorry that these are the only two I have for you this week. With everyone being gone to #BlogHer and the blogosphere full of Social Media and Blogging posts this week, I thought I’d just leave you guys with the link to #SummerBlogSocial hosted by Liz @ A Belle, a Bean & a Chicago Dog and Jessica @ Four Plus an Angel. There are a ton of great reads there and loads of blogging information for those who might be interested. You can find two entries (Growing Your Readership & How to Land Sponsors) over there, too. And in case you missed anything around here this week, here are some of the posts I’ve written that I think you should check out:
Thanks for the shout out on my running post. The whole reason I started my training was to prove that I can set a goal and accomplish it when I set my mind to it. Hitting that 10 mile mark was a major major milestone. Thanks for spotlighting my milestone!!
You are so welcome! That post was so encouraging for someone like me who has never been a runner. Seeing you hit that mark and achieve that milestone is so uplifting!
That makes two of us! I’m reading a little at the time and trying to take some notes on what the others have written. What a GREAT load of information!
