I am finally beginning to get into the holiday spirit now that the weather has taken a turn toward being COLD [finally] and I’ve started Christmas shopping. Hubby and I adopted a child from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree this year and I spent all day Tuesday shopping for him. I explained to Little Man {in the best way one can explain these kinds of things to a two year old} that we were going to go buy present for a little boy who wasn’t as fortunate as we were. I told him that since God had been so good to our family and that we were as blessed as we were to have more things than we really need that we were going to give back and help someone else.
We put up the Christmas Tree with my mom and dad on Monday Evening. Little Man had a ball! He didn’t quite grasp the concept of putting the ornaments on the tree…he just thought we were sticking stuff on the branches. See?
My mom and dad also let him be in charge of putting the Candy Canes on the Christmas Tree. He had a great time…although, he didn’t really think out where he was going to place them. Because they ended up in the same general area. 🙂
Altogether it was a really great evening that really put me in the holiday mood.
I started doing some Christmas shopping this week and have found a few small items for the little guy and one or two little stocking stuffers for Hubby, but nothing major. He wants a new stethoscope, so that’s probably going to be his “big” gift and I want an iPhone when we swap to AT&T in a few weeks. Little Man is getting a portable DVD player to have on the big trip across country and a few small things we’ve picked up here and there. But that’s about it. What’s on your Christmas list this year?
Hope you guys have a great Thursday!
